The art of orthodontics

Any dentist can call themselves an orthodontist, regardless of whether they have any training or expertise in orthodontics. To become a specialist orthodontist, a dentist must follow a full-time, five year training programme – in addition to the five year course in dentistry.

There are only 805 specialist orthodontists in England and Wales (see specialist register www.gdc-uk.org). We are therefore proud to have five specialist orthodontists based in our Practice.

Orthodontics is both a science and an art. Our goal is to achieve a fine balance, so that at the end of the treatment, our patients have healthy teeth, an efficient bite and a wonderful smile.
