Mind the Gap(s)

7th May 2017

Being told to look after your teeth can sound like a broken record. After all most of us brush them twice a day which can be quite a commitment if you have children and find you are constantly reminding them. But our teeth are becoming more and more sacred, as new research suggests that the number of teeth in ones mouth can help estimate how long we may have on the planet!  The study, publish in the journal Periodontology 2000, presents evidence that tooth loss and stress in multiple forms are closely related. In turns out that the fewer teeth a person has, the more likely they are to have accrued a variety of health issues.

Now, if you combine this with decades of evidence that presented a direct correlation between the alignment of teeth and dental health, then a possible remedy to a healthy future is straight teeth and an ideal bite not forgetting the resulting beautiful smile.
